Terms of Service — Bellaatrix

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Bellaatrix, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform. Bellaatrix is a student-built, non-commercial project made for GTU students.

2. Eligibility

Bellaatrix is exclusively intended for students affiliated with Gujarat Technological University (GTU). We may verify eligibility and can suspend or remove accounts that don't meet this criteria.

3. Educational purpose only

Bellaatrix exists purely for educational purposes — sharing notes, previous papers, projects, hackathon info, and mentorship within the GTU community. It is not a commercial product, and nothing on the platform should be treated as professional, legal, or academic-certification advice.

4. Content & intellectual property

Bellaatrix does not claim copyright or ownership over content uploaded by students, including notes, papers, and projects. That material remains the property of its original authors or sources. Similarly, any third-party AI models or tools integrated into Bellaatrix retain their own rights and licensing terms — we don't claim ownership over the underlying AI technology we use.

If you believe content on Bellaatrix infringes your rights, contact us and we'll review and remove it where appropriate.

5. AI-generated content

Some features on Bellaatrix are powered by third-party AI models. Responses generated by these tools may sometimes be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and should be treated as a study aid rather than an authoritative source. Always verify important academic information against your official GTU syllabus, faculty, or university resources.

6. Acceptable use

You agree to use Bellaatrix only for lawful, educational purposes. This includes:

Uploading content you have the right to share.
Treating other students and mentors with respect.
Using AI and platform features as intended — for learning, not exploitation.

7. Prohibited activity

You may not use Bellaatrix to:

Attempt to hack, penetration test, probe, or otherwise compromise Bellaatrix's systems, infrastructure, or any connected third-party services without prior written authorization.
Attempt to bypass, jailbreak, or misuse the security or safety measures of any AI tool integrated into the platform.
Upload malware, harmful scripts, or content that violates any law or another person's rights.
Harass, impersonate, or misrepresent yourself as another student, mentor, or GTU official.
Scrape, resell, or redistribute platform content or data at scale without permission.
Use the platform for any commercial purpose unrelated to its educational mission.

Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, and where relevant, may be reported to GTU or appropriate authorities.

8. Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

9. No warranty

Bellaatrix is provided "as is" and "as available," built and maintained by students on a best-effort basis. We make no warranties about accuracy, reliability, or availability of the platform, its content, or any AI-generated output.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bellaatrix, its student team, and its mentor are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including reliance on user-submitted content or AI-generated responses.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these terms, misuses the platform, or is no longer eligible as a GTU student.

12. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as Bellaatrix evolves. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated terms. We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever this happens.
